Quick Rules

Mini Glossary
- Castling: a king-and-rook move that improves king safety and rook activity in one turn.
- En passant: a special pawn capture available immediately after an adjacent pawn advances two squares.
- Promotion: when a pawn reaches the last rank and becomes a queen, rook, bishop, or knight.
- Fork: one move attacks two or more enemy targets at the same time.
- Pin: a piece cannot move because doing so would expose a more valuable piece behind it.
- Skewer: attack a valuable piece first so it moves and reveals a weaker piece behind it.
